SOUTH DUNEDIN COMMUNITY SING
The South Dunedin community sing is held every Wednesday in the Mayfair Theatre. The three leaders —Mr “ Whang ” M'Kenzie, Dr Noel North, and Mrs E. Cameron—are untiring in their efforts to make each sing a success. The takings stay at a steady level, with, if anything, a slight increase. All proceeds are to be handed to charity, so a little later on extra comfort and pleasure will be provided for some of the less fortunate. The number of “ Whangs ” and letters of appreciation, especially by mail, show that all efforts are not in vain. Next Wednesday will be a dav much looked forward to. It is to be” a ‘ Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ’ day for South Dunedin. Permission has been granted for a collection procession to go through the streets in South Dunedin in the morning at 10.30 until the sing starts. 1 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ’ will all bo in costume. 'All funds for this day are for the orphans, and many residents have already sent in donations. Orphans’ Day is one of the biggest days held. Miss Desley M'Kenzie will sing ' Some Day My Prince Will Come,’ a song suitable for the occasion. Another popular item will be by South Dunedin’s Yodelling Cowboy.
