GOOD DEMAND FOR VEGETABLES MORE AUSTRALIAN LEMONS DUE NEXT WEEK Reilly’s report that business. during the week has been satisfactory, with an excellent demand experienced for vegetables. Fairly heavy supplies of applet are arriving, and good quality lines are netting fair values, with a limited demand for lower-grade fruit.. Dessert Eears have a satisfactory demand at igher values.

Cut flowers have a much. better inquiry, and increased supplies are netting good values. Australian navel oranges were! distributed. during the week. The fruit was in excellent condition and met with a kfeeti inquiry. Further supplies will be available next week. Australian lemons have a fair inquiry, and a further shipment is. due next week. .

Ripe bananas have an excellent inquiry. Small consignments of New Zealand marmalade oranges continue to , coma to-hand and are netting satisfactory values.

Fresh vegetables have a good demand, cabbages'and cauliflowers netting good values. Smaller consignments of pumpkins are arriving, and values have firmed slightly. Carrots are in. fair supply. Smaller consignment*. of parsnips are being received and prices arw firmer. Swede turnips are in ample supply. Potato values remain firm, with a good demand for King Edwards* Seed potatoes have an excellent inquiry* Eggs;—Supplies are 1 short of ■ the' inquiry, and prices remain firm at Is lOd for guaranteed. ;■*• Poultry.—There was only a.snmll penning for Wednesday’s sale, with good values being maintained.
