STATISTICS OF LONDON TRANSPORT BOARD Statistics compiled by the London Passenger Transport Board over one year, giving a comprehensive resume of the activities of the board over the period, were tabled at the annual meeting of the Otago Shippers and Importers’ Association last night. _ Remarkable figures were recorded, giving a surprising idea of the volume of business. For instance, passengers carried on the various systems under its control had reached the huge total of 3,636,393,610 for 12 months, the principal transportation being _ by buses and coaches, this comprising nearly two-thirds. Route miles travelled by trains and road vehicles totalled 3,049, coaches and buses again registering the highest figures. No fewer than 13,262 passenger vehicles were maintained by the board, while its staff consisted of 81,765 persons. Service ears had registered 544,630,459 miles during the period, both by trains and road vehicles.
