ACTIVE COMPETITION: RATES MAINTAINED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 23. (Received November 24, at 11.50 a.m.) At the wool sales 8,630 bales were offered, including 3,985 from New Zealand, and 7,758 were sold. There was a good selection, with active competition, r&tes being generally maintained. New Zealand cross-breds weoe well taken by the Home trade, and there was good Continental bidding for merinos. AGENTS' REPORTS Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. Ltd. have received the following wool market quotations from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray, and Elder Ltd., dated the 23rd inst.:— 60-64's New Zealand merino (yielding 48 per cent), ll£d (at close of previous series, lljd); 56's half-bred (yielding 64 per cent.), 12d (12d); 50's fine crossbred (yielding 70 per cent.), UH (lid): 44-46's preparing (yielding 76 per cent.), lljd (10id); 44-46's carding (yielding 74 per cent.), 10Id (lOJd); 40-44's (yielding 75 per cent.), none offering (lOJd); 36-40's (yielding 76 per cent.), none offering (—); 46-48's mixed preparing and carding (yielding 74 per cent.), Hid (10}d); 48-50's mixed preparing and carding (yielding 72 per cent.), HJd (lOJd).
