ANGLING COMPETITION
WON BY OTAGO An interclub angling competition was held on the Shag (River on Saturday, when teams of eight represented the North Otago Angling Club and the Otago Anglers’ Association. The competition was held under, very adverse conditions, and owing to the strong wind, anglers had difficulty in keeping the flies on the water. The four largest bags counted at the weigh-in, and the Otago team won by a good margin. The results were as follows:—Otago: C. Levido, 12 fish, 51b Hodding, 10 fish, 61b lOoz; J. Rhodes, 6 fish, 51b 8oz; E. King, 7 fish, 41b 4oz; total, 211 b 7oz. North Otago: W. Yorston, '6 fish, 31b 9oz; W. Thomas, 4 fish, 31b 14oz; A. Dun, 5 fish, 31b soz; I. Chalmers, 5 fish, 21b l2oz; total, 131 b Boz. Mr Thomas, president of the North Otago Angling Club, congratulated the winning team, and expressed the opinion that the competition was fully justified. The coming together of anglers from different clubs was all to the good of the sport.
