ANGLO-ITALIAN AGREEMENT

NO OBSTACLE IN THE WAY ENFORCEMENT EXPECTED OH NOVEMBER 15 Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 27. The diplomatic correspondent of * The Times ’ says that Lord Perth informed Count Ciano of the British decision to enforce the Anglo-ltalian agreement at the earliest moment. No obstacle is expected to the agreement being enforced on November 15. IMPLEMENTATION OF AGREEMENT !’ WAY BECOMING CLEARER. LONDON, October 28. (Received October 29, at 8 a.m.) Little is officially divulged in London regarding implementation of the Angloltalian agreement, beyond the Government’s apparent satisfaction at the withdrawal, of 10,000 Italians from Spain, which fulfils the definition “ substantial withdrawal.” This is solely responsible for the six months’ delay, during which Italy in the meantime has ceased anti-British wireless propaganda in the Near East, and has adequately respected British rights at Lake Tsana. Thus the way is clear to face up to Italy’s equally vital desire for recognition of the conquest of Abyssinia, also for better relations in the Mediterranean, including fortifications there, and in the Red Sea, as well as Arab and other problems incidental to Mr Chamberlain’s policy of appeasement.
