HOUSING SCHEME

THIRTY-THREE ACRES PURCHASED [Peb United Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, October 27. Under its housing scheme the Government has purchased two block* of land in Mount Albert borough, totalling about 33 acres and containing about 138 sections, on some of which it is proposed to build two-unit houses It is expected that there will be at least 150 houses. The contractors have started on the work of reading and providing services, and it is expected that within a few months a start will be made on the houses. A feature of the scheme for settlement will be children’s playgrounds and community garages.
