After sitting for four hours tho Fascist Grand Council, with Signor Mussolini presiding, issued a communication at. 3 a.m. announcing that the council sent a special salute to Japan on the occasion of .the Canton and Hankow victories. The statement declared : “The Italian people feel themselves bound to Japan by deep ideological, spiritual, ! and political solidarity, which continues to find the greatest expression in the Italian, German, and Japanese Pact.” The communication added that the council, ‘ after examining the situation in Libya, proclaims that Libya’s four provinces should now become part of the national territory instead of ranking as a colonial possession.
