TAX EVASION OF £434 [Peb Unites Pees* Association.] GISBORNE, October 21. “ Here we have the case of ft man regularly taking money from the till and secreting it in order to evade taxation.” commented Mr Walton, S.M.. in the Police Court this morning, when ft Wairoa firm, Zakris and Zakris, fish merchants, was charged with wilfully making false returns of income for the years 1934 to 1938. . It was stated that the amount o! income undisclosed exceeded £4,000, and the tax evaded amounted to £494. Fines totalling £6B 6s were' imposed*
