TEACHERS' SALARIES REMOVAL Of BARS WELLINGTON, October 20. The Manual and • Technical School# regulations and the Combined School# regulations, which appear in to-night’s ‘ Gazette,’ provide for the removal of the lower salary bars for men and women teachers in technical and combined schools and, in the case of certain teachers in the former schools, provision is made for the maximum fixed for the higher bar for men and women to be increased in each case, so as to be in line with the maximum salaries. 1 The removal of the lower bar will enable teachers to proceed to such art annual salary as their personal classification would entitle them to receive for similar positions in secondary ’schools. , The regulations will take effect from November 1. The Secondary Schools regulations, which are also issued with the ‘ Gazette,’ provide for increased capitation payments towards the cost of material used in manual and science classes in secondary schools.
