PUBLICATION RECEIVER

‘ TABLET ’ CHRISTMAS HUMBER The Christinas number of the ‘ New Zealand Tablet ’ is a most attractive publication. It is prefaced by seasonal messages from Archbishop O’Shea and Bishops Whyte, Brodic, and Liston. A great variety of interesting reading matter is contained in the number, including a Christmas meditation by Stanley B. James, numerous stories, articles, and verses bearing on the birth of the Saviour of the world. *On Christmas Night is a poem set to music specially for the ‘ Tablet,’ by Dr Vernon Griffiths, M.A. The number is profusely illustrated by pictures having relation to Christmas topics and by scenes of great beauty from the southern lake regions. Altogether this Christmas number of the ‘ Tablet ’ is a commendable effort, wellbalanced in variety of topic, and contributed to by people accomplished in literary and artistic work.
