LADIES’ BOWLING NOTES
[By Kitty.] Following is the draw for the first round of the weekly ihterclub matches, commencing on Tuesday, at 2.15 (18 heads in every game and 10 rounds to be played);— Bound I.—Anderson’s Bay v. Otago, one rink at Bay and two rinks at Otago; Caversham v. St. Kilda, two at Caversham and two at St. Kilda; Dunedin v. 0.L.8.A., one at Dunedin and two at 0.L.8.A.; Green Island v. Mornington, two at Green Island and one at Mornington; Kaikorai v. Port Chalmers, one at Kaikorai and one at Port Chalmers; Kaikorai v. Roslyn, one at Kaikorai and one at Roslyn; Leith v. Opoho. two at Leith and one at Opoho; Logan Park v. North-east Valley, one at Logan Park and one at Valley; Portobello v. Otago, one rink at Portobello; St, Clair v. Harbour, one at St. Clair and two at Ravensbourne; Northeast Valley v. Taieri, one at Valley and one at Mosgiel. Caversham, Otago, Kaikorai, Northeast Valley, and St. Kilda,. will play four rinks; Leith, Dunedin, Green Island, Mornington, St. Clair, 0.L.8.A., Opoho, West Harbour, and Anderson’s Bay. three rinks; Logan Park, Roslyn ; Port Chalmers, Portobello, and Taieri two rinks. Scoring points for wins: Four-rink club, 1) for each winning rink; threerink club, 2 ; and two-rink club, 3. Results of games are to be forwarded to “ Kitty ” not later than the day following play. The Kaikorai Club held an enjoyable afternoon on Tuesday for its opening day of play. The president (Mrs M'Connell) extended a welcome to members and friends. Doubles were played till 3 o’clock, when afternoon tea was served, during which the president presented a clock to Mrs W. H. Beath (who is leaving shortly for Christchurch), and expressed the wish that the recipient would remember the happy times spent in Dunedin. Games were then continued, the winners being Mesdames Clyde and Baker (skips) and Mesdames Delahunty and H. Morrison (leads). The Port Chalmers Club opened the season on Tuesday in ideal weather. The president (Mrs Sutherland) extended a welcome to members and to the ladies of the Portobello Club. Mrs Jack presented two badges, given to the club by the president—one to the president and one to the secretary. Mr Scollny (Mayor of Port Chalmers) wished the club every success in the coming season. After Mrs Aitken (president of the Portobello Club) had rolled up the first bowl, Mrs Sutherland declared the season opened. Afternoon tea was then served, and the rest of the time was spent in play.
