(Received October 20, at 11 a.m.) Sir James Parr, arrived in Sydney from England, said he had no doubt that within a few months Herr Hitler will demand New Guinea and other mandated colonies v “Herr Hitler,” he remarked, “is in a mood for war. We must fight this attempt to take New Guinea, Samoa, South-west Africa, and Tanganyika. The European trouble is by no means over. Herr Hitler wants the whole of the Danube basin, then he will make for .the Ukraine.” . . Sic James Parr added; It is no use talking of peace, as war between Russia and Germany is inevitable.” FRENCH REPUBLICANS RESISTANCE URGED. PARIS, October 19. (Received October 20, at 2 p.m.) The Chamber’s Republican Federation group passed a resolution demanding the Government to resist German colonial claims, and urged official pronouncement of its policy. IMPERIAL CONFERENCE URGED SALISBURY, October 19. (Received October 20, at 1.30 p.m.) The Southern Rhodesian Parliament unanimously passed a resolution urging the Union to request the Imperial Government to summon a conference of the heads of dominions and colonies to decide a policy regarding “ the continued holding or relinquishment of ■mandates.” ...
