‘FITNESS ON PARADE'

At His Majesty’s Theatre to-night the annual physical culture and gymnastic display of the Dunedin Y.M.C.A. will be staged, under the title of ‘ Fitness On Parade,’ when over 200 performers will be taking part in a pageant of colour, vigorous youth, and physical perfection. The public will be afforded an excellent opportunity to observe the latest various body-building exercises so necessary in promoting robust health. Through the various graduation exercises will be seen the gradual evolution from the simple to the complex. Novelty will be the keynote in the presentation of all items, and these will be shown in brilliant settings. Gymnastic exhibitions on the horizontal* bar, parallel bars, and vaulting horse will be outstanding features. Reproductions of famous statuary by Jiving figures, unique balancing and beautiful tableau work are other attractions. Special attention has been paid to the spectacular lighting and costuming effects to procure the maximum results, and a thoroughly balanced performance. The whole production, with its gorgeous ensembles, ballets, solo dances, and songs, interspersed with the more vigorous items, should prove a popular attraction. Assisting aro the-pupils of Miss Bertha Salmond, Mr Arthur Macdonald, Brooke’s Piano-accordion Band, and Master Alan Cropley. Box plan arrangements aro advertised.
