ALAN LOVEDAY RECITAL
The brilliant boy violinist, Alan Loveday, who at the early age of 10 exhibits a technique and a musical appreciation usually found only in a mature artist, and of whom, after hearing him play, it is not difficult to believe the predictions of visiting artists that he is destined for high achievement amongst the world’s musical elect, will give his major recital in the Concert Chamber on Tuesday next. His unspoiled 'personal charm, allied to bis. unusual gift, has won for him loyal support, and, it is felt that before he leaves Otago his courageous effort to gain that opportunity 7 in the realm of music to which his genius entitles him will be rewarded by individual as well as communal assistance. Some of his best numbers, all of which he presents without aid of the score, will be rendered at Tuesday’s recital. The local musical societies are organising this concert, at which the Royal Dunedin Male Choir and the Dunedin Choral Society, together with several leading soloists and entertainer’s, will be associated on the programme. The recital will be under the patronage of the mayor and mayoress, who are warmly interested in the future of this talented boy. The box plan opens at Begg’s to-morrow.
