(Received October 19, at 10 a.m.) Typical of the crop of “inside stories ” from the crisis is a statement by Captain von Rintelen, ex-serviceman and author of 1 The Dark Invader,’ in a speech at Bromley, in which he declared : “ The affair of two weeks ago was a gigantic fraud and bluff, for which Britain and France fell. I have positive evidence that it was never a question of war, to which the German High Command was opposed. If it had occurred something would have happened in Germany of which you have not thought.’’
