CHINAMAN ACQUITTED
TWO VERDICTS OF HOT GUILTY [Per United Press Association.] GISBORNE. August 16. Percy Chong San, a Chinese fruiterer, of Wairoa, was acquitted by two juries in the Supreme Court to-day before Mr Justice Quilliam on two indictments alleging indecent assault on little girls. The first jury returned a verdict of not guilty and the second jury returned a similar finding without leaving the box. The Judge said there would be great danger in convicting the man on such flimsy evidence.
