WAITAKI BOYS ABROAD
SPURT IN THE ROCKY MOUHTAIHS A news bulletin dated August 16 from the party of hoys from the AVaitaki Boys’ High School at present touring in Canada states that after leaving Nelson on their trip to Calgary the party crossed the llocky Mountains, and at Calgary the boys were entertained under the direction of the Hon. 11. B. Bennett, the ex-Primo Minister of Canada. Thence they were transported to Banff, the famous tourist resort, which is in the midst of mighty snow-clad ranges, and were joined by the British and Canadian schoolboys in a combnied -camp as an Empire youth rally. They were provided with a lino range of sporting facilities and a programme of sightseeing. Mr P. Hargreaves, the master in charge of the AVaitaki boys, has cabled as follows:—“Banff splendid. Great excursions to Lake Louise, Emerald Lake, Yoho Valley, and other scenic resorts. All boys well. Party leaves here for Vancouver on August 17.” Arrangements have been made for the boys to enjoy private hospitality in Vancouver and Victoria pending the departure of the steamer Niagara on August 31. Parents may rest assured that the boys are all in good health, and that under Major Ney’s direction they will have splendid opportunities of experiencing the social, recreational, and athletic life of British Columbia, which is by far the most diversified and attractive part of Canada and the most British?
