WOMEN’S HOCKEY
OTAGO ASSOCIATION At the last executive meeting of the Women’s Hockey Association those present were Airs Nelson (in the chair), Airs Borthwick, Aiisses Hill, Lee, Wilson, Morton, Robinson, Mitchell, Foley, and Air Wallace. A letter was received from the University Club stating that it understood competition matches would finish at the end of the second round and that it would not be required to play during the University vacation.—lt was decided to write the University Club and point out that it was decided some time ago to play the competition matches up to the start of the representative season, and that as that club’s A grade team was leading it would be required to play next Saturday and possibly the following one also. In the event of two teams being even in cup points at the end of the matches, the enp would be held six months by each team. The following teams have been withdrawn from the B grade competition: —University and Otago B. A letter was received from the Technical College stating that the match against Invercargill Technical College would not take place- in the meantime. Permission was granted Airs Hamilton to play for the Brighton Club. The secretary was instructed to write the New Zealand Association for permission to play representative matches. As only seven of the required 13 billets wore found for the Southland team to play in Dunedin on September 3, it was decided to write to that association asking if members could find billots for'themselves, or, failing that, was the association prepared to pay the cost'of boarding the remainder of the girls for the week-end. September 10 was set down for two games against South Otago, to be played on the Oval at 1.15, the Umpires’ Association to arrange umpires for all representative matches.
