RUGBY UNION CONGRATULATIONS TO OTAGO ALL BLACKS MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE The meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Rugby Union last night, Mr A. C. Haynes (president) in the chair, decided to write congratulating Mr N. A. Mitchell on his appointment as captain of the All Blacks team to tour in Australia, and the other Otago members of the team —Messrs C. Quaid, T. Berghan, A. Parkhill, and J. M. Taylor—on their selection. It was also decided to congratulate the. ex-Otago and Pirates player C. Saxton on his selection. Permission was granted the M'Glashau College first fifteen to play its annual match against St. Kevin’s College at Dunedin on June 29. The game will be played at Bishopscourt if the ground is suitable. Permission was granted the Dunedin Technical College first fifteen to play against the Invercargill Technical College team at Dunedin on Friday, August 19. Permission was granted the Boys High School first fifteen to travel to Invercargill on. Wednesday, June 29. to play against the Southland Boys High School. Permission was granted the University A team to travel to Christchurch to-day to meet the Canterbury University College team to-morrow. Mr A. G. Munro will be the manager. George T. Ellison was granted a transfer to the Alhambra Club. The writer stated that it was nine of 10 years since he had played for the Dunedin Club. J. F. Campbell was granted a transfer from the llanfurly Club to the Alhambra Club, and L. Caiman from the Clutha Valley Club to the Kaikorai Club.

A letter win received from the Pirates Club stating that as the fifth grade match between Pirates and Technical College was set down for Saturday, June 18, and that as Technical desired to send a team to Christchurch for the annual tournament, the game might be played at a later date. This would obviate the necessity of Technical College defaulting.—The matter was referred to the Flag Committee. It was decided that the junior representative match between Otago and Southland be played at Dunedin on August 27. It was decided to hold Charity Saturday on Saturday next. A letter was received from the town clerk (Mr 11. A. Johnston) stating that the Reserves Committee of the City Council had altered the positions of the various grounds at Tonga Park, and hoping that the altered arrangements would meet with the union's approval.—The committee to be thanked for the new arrangement.
