[From Our Baicujth* Correspondent.] HOCKEY. Playing on Saturday, the Stirling team beat Balclutha by 4 goals to 1. Scorers for the winners were B. Scott (2), P. Barron, and H. Richardson, while Jean Gold was the scorer for Balclutha Mrs Caterer was referee. BASKETBALL. Saturday’s results:—High School A 30, Clutha I. 3; Stirling 15, High School B 3. B Grade. —Kaitangata 11. 20. Clutha 11, 3: High School 0 12, Kaitangata B; High School D defaulted to Greenfield. COMMUNITY SING. There was an excellent attendance in the Britannia Theatre, Balclutha, last night, when the three Dunedin community sing leaders. Messrs Desmoulins, Pettit, and Himourg, conducted a “sing” in aid of the Plunket queen funds. The singing was good and a substantial sum was raised by the efforts of the leader in securing amounts for efforts of local artists., Songs by the mayor, the Plunket nurse, the Misses Shnmpton, and others all brought forth good cheerios and financial results, while the sale of a quantity of goods or various kinds also helped to swell the funds.
