A nine-hole flag match was played on Saturday, and was won by H. Riddell, who carried the flag to the tenth green. The first round of the fourball knock-out competition was played over the week-end, results being as under:—G. Burns and R. Stewart beat Sime and Bristow, 3 and 2; A. Laing and Macfarlane beat Simpson and Hanning, 2 and 1; Miller and L. Anderson beat F. Stewart and Sydney, 1 up at the tenth; Riddell and J. Burns beat Aubin and L. Todd, 1 up; Webb and Morgan beat Wright and J. Laing, 3 and 1; Davies and Phillips beat T. Anderson and Steele, 4 and 2; Greville and Toomey beat G. C. Burns and Wigney, 4 and 2.
