POPPY DAY FUND
RECORD TOTAL REACHED OVER £2,600 COLLECTED IN OTAGO The amount collected tor the Poppy Day fund throughout Otago this year has reached over £2,600, which is a record for the province. The secretary of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association (Mr O. L. Fercns) stated this morning that the amount in hand was £2,608 Is Id, and that three small returns lad still to arrive. The previous largest amount collected was £2,600 in 1930, and the total last year was £2,562. Additional returns acknowledged are:—Maniototo Snh-branch (Paerau), £1 Is; West Taieri R.S.A.. £lO 4s Gd; Owaka Sub-branch, £l7 10s 6d from sale of poppies and £ll 8s From Anzac Day collection; Queenstown (additional), £5 9s lOd. Total, £3,608 lg Id.
