WATER POLO
WINNING TEAMS ENTERTAINED The Kiwi Amateur Swimming Club entertained its A team (winners of the A grade water polo competition) and Dunedin B team (winners of the B grade) at a most enjoyable social function in the Baths club room last evening, representatives of all clubs being present. Mr S. Brown (president of the Kiwi Club) was in the chair, and also present were Messrs W. A. Jenkins (president of the Otago Swimming Centre) and D. Watson, D. C. Bannatyne, and M. Taylor (representing the Water Polo Match Committee) . Opportunity was taken during the evening to present the Donald Stuart Banner to the Kiwi team, and the King George V. Memorial Cup to the Dunedin team, and on behalf of the Kiwi team Mr D. Pickard made a presentation to its coach, Mr Don. Watson. Discussion took place concerning the need for popularising the B grade competition, and it was resolved to recommend the centre to call a meeting later of representatives of all clubs with a view to making an earlier start with the B grade games, and also to explore the possibility of engaging the baths for a water polo night every fortnight, one A grade and three B grade games to be played.
