MAGISTRATE’S COURT

TUESDAY, MAY 10. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, 8.M.) DEFAULT CASES. Judgment, with costs, was given for the plaintiffs in the following cases W. Purvis v. W.' Service Offset Lithographic Company Ltd., £lO9 6s lid, goods supplied; R. H. Gardner v. Albert' Williamson (Kyeburn), £7 18s 6d. goods supplied; Butterfields ,Ltd. v. S. Frisby (Taihape), £3 19s 9d, goods supplied. ORDER REFUSED. After hearing evidence, the Magistrate refused to make an order in the case in which Paynter and Hamilton l td. (Christchurch) proceeded against T. Hesse on a judgment summons to recover the sum of £l4 Os 6d. CASE ADJOURNED. William MTarlane proceeded against Robert W. G. Reid, labourer, on a claim to recover possession of a dwelling house situated in _ Marion street, Caversham, and occupied by the defendant as a weekly tenant. The plaintiff further claimed to recover £9l for rent. Mr W. Ward appeared for the plaintiff, and F. Reay, inspector of factories, -represented the defendant. After hearing the evidence, the. Magistrate adjourned the matter sine die on condition that the defendant paid £1 7s 6d weekly.
