(From Oar Oamaru Correspondent.) RUGBY UNION. The North Otago Rugby Union Management Committee last night decided to issue a challenge for the Ranfurly Shield. , ; . A football was granted to Kakapm School. Transfers were granted to R. Dougherty (Port Chalmers to Athletic), D. Cleverley (Southern to Maheno). An application by the Glencoe Club (Herbert) for affiliation was referred hack to the club'to obtain nomination. The club will play third grade. ; Jt was decided to nominate Mr A. Adams (West Coast) as a South Island selector, and Mr E. M'Kenzie (Wairarapa) as New Zealand selector.. .It was decided to hold a seyen-a-sidc. tournament on dune 6, Messrs J. Palmer, 6. Knowles, M. F. Woodward, and fi. Nicholson to be the Draw ComInittea. GOLF. A medal match was played at the Awamoa Club on Saturday ori a very heavy course. . ' The best cards were handed in by B. Patterson 95 (23), 72; J. Scott 85 (9), 76; A. M'Beath 88 (10), 78; and R. Domigan 89 (10), 79. MINIATURE RIFLES, At the Kurow .Miniature Rifle Club’s weekly shoot the holders lost the teams shoot as follows:—Holders: E. S. Wills 79, G. M'Lean 69, F. Todd 79, T. Arlidge 66; total, 293. Winners: .J. R Jackson 77, M. Stanger 76, -J. M‘Kaj 77, G. Jefferis 70; total, 300. The rifle button was retained by F. Todd. The best scores .were: F. Todd 79, E. S. Wills 79 A. C. Robinson 78, J, M‘Kay, J. R. "Jackson 77, N. Stanger 76, G. VV. Cogger, T. Sanders 73.. ROTARY CLUB. At the weekly luncheon of the Camara Rotary Club yesterday Mr R. Kinnaird (Alexandra) gave a-very interesting talk -on fruitgrowing in Central Otago. Particular interest was taken in the description of the frost-fighting ' procedure.
