JOHANNESBURG BUILDING

INCREASED VALUE DF PLANS PASSED Building activity in Johannesburg is again on the up grade. During February the city engineer’s department passed plans to the value of £1,013,440. This is the first time for a year that the million-pound mark has been exceeded in a monthly return. For the last six months a slight fall in the returns was noticeable, but now the indications are that high levels are to be maintained. For the first two months of this year the amount of building work passed totalled £1,693,346.
