OTAGO HUNT CLUB
MEET AT WAKARI
Favoured by ideal weather, the weekly meet of the Otago Hunt Club was held on Saturday at Wakari over the properties of Messrs J. Bain, jun., Brinsdon and Copland. Followers met at the Town Hall and proceeded to Waken, where the throw-off took place in Mr Bam s property shortly after 3 o’clock. The hounds were soon on the trail and worked well throughout. This is a new run the club has acquired. The country. is ideal for hunting and contains a good variety, of jumps, including stone walls and post and rails and wire fences. The outstandjumpers on the day were Mr S. McKay’s Palaform (owner) and Mr W. Haslie’s Mystery (Miss N. Kerr). Others prominent throughout were Donegal, Nugget and Peter McGill. The first woman rider was Miss E. Grant, who put up a creditable performance for her first hunt.
