COMPLETE LOSS

LARGE RESIDENCE DESTROYED [Per. United Press Association.] HASTINGS, May 7. Fire completely destroyed a larga house in Omahu road owned by Mr G. C. Tripe at an early hour thi« morning. The Fire Brigade was called to the scene, but was unabla to do anything to save the dwelling; which was a complete loss. Tha occupants were' almost trapped by the blaze, and saved little personal effects. The house, a two-storeyed one, had been leased to Messrs P. Mplloy and G. A. Littin during the absence in England of the owner. They had only time to pull on a few clothes, and escaped without footwear or any other belongings. The contents wera insured with Lloyds for £1365 and the house with the same company, for £2500.
