Rain fell overnight, and it was showery this morning for the final gallops at Ellerslie in connection with the Avondale Autumn ‘ Meeting. The course proper with the poles 50ft out was .used, and the going was heavy. _• Land Girl, Trevace, and. Palmint finished in that, order at the end of sis furlongs in Imin' 22 l-ssec. Rollicker pleased while running five furlongs in Imin 6sec, after covering the first two furlongs in 25 3-6seo, He did his Work well. • Light Comedy beat Malagigi over sis furlongs in Imin 22 2-sseo. Knight of Australia and My Money traversed seven furlongs in Im’in 34 4-ssec. Bonny Belle joined in at the half-mile and finished in front. _ Paint traversed five,furlongs in Imin 6 l-ssoc. Tonnerre was going easily alongside Cheval de Yolee at the, conclusion pf half a. mile in 51 3-ssec. Master Brierly beat Prince Rangi over a mile in Imin 48 l-ssec, the last seven furlongs taking Imin 36seo, Llangollen was under restraint while covering seven furlongs in Imin 39sec, Golden Sheila and King Musk were on terms at the end of five furlongs in Imin 6 1-Ssec. ’ Noitaro put up a good effort while running half a mile in 61sec. Prince Acre beat Merial over five furlongs in Imin 6sec, the first two in 25 2-ssec.

Tosh beat Hunting Blood over five furlongs in Imin 6 4-oseC,-a good effort. Masown was doing better than Gintrace at the finish of half a mile in 51 4-6 sec,

Francis Drake was sent over six furlongs, ■ and completed his task in. Imin 23sec, after doing the first three in 4lsec. ,

Aiwai was given an easy sis furlongs, running the Isat five in Imin 10 4-ssep. Gay Rose covered seven furlongs in Imin 34.3-ssec, the first half-mile taking 52 2-sseo. She went well through-? out.

Galilee and Lady Meath ran the best half-mile of the morning, recording 50 4-ssec. .

Johnny Walls also pleased while traversing a similar distance in 61sec. Race Call was not bustled to run five furlongs in Imin lOsec. Alyth ran half a mile in 54sec, while Te Hai, after completing four furlongs in Slsec, got to the end of seven in Imin 44 2-osec, a good gallop. Dragon Moth, after traversing two furlongs in 25 3-ssec, completed five in Imin 6 l-ssec. Illumani was sent out to jump four hurdles, but repeatedly refused. He eventually stumbled over the first fence and injured himself. SATURDAY'S RUGBY In the event of Carisbrook not being in fit condition for two matches on Saturday the curtain raiser will be transferred to Tahuna.
