Treacherous. undercurrents are constituting a source of real danger. : ' At St. Clair the beach- is .definitely dangerous, and the- presence of several -holes renders even the flagged-off area unsafe, decidely , so at high tide. Conditions arp such that . children should not be permitted to bathe at St. Clair and adults .are advised to keep , close inshore. ' : ' Similar conditions- prevail at St. Kilda. A strong undercurrent -.was noticeable this morning;, and there are holes right, along the beach. ; As at St. Clair the advice- is not to go far out. I A better state of affairs prevails at Tomahawk, - where,thismoming,t-hesea was moderating. It was expected that the afternoon tide would be good. The sand is smooth, _ and between tho flagged areas bathing is -safe. Tho temperature of the. water is » little colder than it has been recently.
