LABOUR LEGISLATION

PRAISE FOR MR SAVAGE

CMMENT 1H 1 DAILY HERALD ’

Pres* Association —By Telegraph—Copyright

LONDON, February 28. The ‘ Daily Herald ’ (Labour), in a leader, says: “New Zealand has a Government which knows how to get busy. Mr Savage has defended social services against people who think them too expensive, and he had the courage to say he will expand them even if the country is faced with a slump._ That is a sensible thing to say. It is just when private enterprise is beginning to economise that a Government needs to be bold enough to spend more than*’ ever.”
