A NEW DESIGN IN COOKING STOVES

Designed on a very old pz-inciple in heat generation, a new type of cooking stove, which is proving very effective for modern requirements, has appeared on the market. This cooker is a scientific development of the principle of heat storage, the same principle that was used by the Maoris in constructing their old stone ovens. The entire cooker is packed with insulating material, encased in heavy metal Hastings, and its heat which is thus conserved and accumulated is used for cooking and not wasted. ■ Science has thus placed at the service of the chef or the housewife, one of the most advanced steps in slow combustion cookery, which combines economy in fuel with perfection in final achievement. As the stoking is reduced to a minimum less fuel has to be stored and carried and flue-cleaning, as in the old type of coal stoves, is almost done away with, while_ a continuous steady heat is maintained day and night._ The hygienic condition of the kitchen is vastly improved, devoid of excessive heat, free from fumes, smoke, and dirt. Many of the large hotels and institutions have , been fitted with these cookers and a smaller model for household use is filling a great demand from countrv houses. Already one of the new city homes, just completed, has been supplied.
