DRILL FOR CHILDREN.
TO THE EDirOJl. Sir, —Yesterday was a very sultry day, and tlie children in the junior standard of one of our public schools had drill in the hottest part of the day for a quarter of an hour; and although they were out in the bright sunshine they were not allowed to wear their hats. I seem to remember that last year, during the infantile paralysis epidemic, all parents were exhorted to see that children were not allowed to play in the bright sunshine tinless they wore hats. I think that headmasters should see that no exhausting drill is allowed for the younger children during the, present hot weather, as I know of several children who were upset yesterday at tho school to which I refer; and they should see that children should certainly not drill at all in the hot sun without hats.—l am, etc., , February 26.
