AMBULANCE BRIGADE
HILLSIDE BRANCH The annual meeting of the Hillside branch of the St. John Ambulance Brigade was held in the Social Hall, Superintendent Penson presiding over an attendance of 30 members. District Officer A. G. Swanson, Corps Superintendent P- C. Wilkinson, Corps Officer D. Alaclenu, and Corps Officer L. Stewart, were welcomed to the meeting. The election of office-bearers resulted: Selectors —Superintendent Penson, Ambulance Officer Al'Pherson, and A. Al'Ewan; auditors, District Officer Swanson and Air Downing; Social Committee—Alcssrs Al'Pherson, M'Kewen, AlTutosh, L. Alorrison, Jaspar, Al'Douald, Coward, and Smaill; ambulance officer and secretary. Sergeant Reynolds; corporals—Privates Goddeson, Caspar, and AlTniosli. It was resolved that letters of appreciation be scut to Alcssrs Hcbbard and Alarquot for their services' to the brigade during their lengthy membership, and that their resignations be accepted with regret. Ambulance Officer W. Al'Donald expressed a desire to be placed on the reserve of officers owing to ill-health, his decision being regretfully received by the superintendent. A motion that the annual subscription be increased to 5s was heavily defeated. A motion that certificates be given to members of winning teams in annual Efficiency Cup owmpetitions was carried. A motion that an entry fee of 2s 6d bo paid by each competitor in annual Efficiency, Cup competitions, to be refunded when the competitor had taken part in the event, was carried. Air Findlay, of the Royal Life Saving Society, presented certificates for resuscitation to the following members; —Alessrs Smaill, Coward, Ambulance Officer L. Stewart, Ambulance Officer M'Donald, Superintendent J. Penson, Alcssrs Burridge, Al'lnt-osh* Jaspar, Hay, Alackay, Aitkenhead. The following were presented with 1935-36 bars by District Officer G. Swanson:—Superintendent J. Penson, Corps Officer L. Stewart, Ambulance Officer P. Al'Pherson, Sergeant Jt. Reynolds, Cadet Officer A. Dickson, Alessrs A. Smith, S: Lyons, A. Hebbard, B. Daniels, AI. F. Ford, A. Al'Ewan, G. Fraser.
The following were presented with medallions;—Cadet Officer A. Dickson, Sergeant J. Guthrie, Messrs M. F. Ford) J. Geddeson, J. M‘Don a Id, W. Jaspar, F. Holmes, Libbis. The following were presented with their first-aid certificates:—Messrs M. Aitkenhead, W. Coward, R. Hay, J, M'Farlane, L. M‘Kay, W. Morrison. N. Packer, B. Ross, H. Smaill, B. Ward, H. White. The Superintendent mentioned the receipt of a letter from the Tramways Picnic Committee returning thanks for the services of the members of Hillside Ambulance.
