POLO ACCIDENT

HASTINGS, February 14. Through the polo pony he was riding colliding with that of another player, Donald James Maefarlane, aged 21, the only son of Mr J. A. Maefarlane, of Glen Aros; Station, Hastings, received injuries to the head and spine from which he later died. The accident occurred during the progress of a game, Maefarlane being thrown- heavily. Macfarlance, who was educated at Wanganui College, was a keen' all* round sportsman and. the'holder of; * gentleman rider’s license.
