THREE YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT
SHIP'S FIREMAN SENTENCED REFORMATIVE DETENTION FOR SALESMAN [Pan United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 11. A sentence of three years’ imprisonment was imposed in the Supreme Court, Wellington, to-day by Mr Justice Blair on William M'Reynolds, a ship’s' fireman, aged 29 years, who had been convicted of breaking and entering and theft. His Honour said tho prisoner’s record showed he had qualified to be declared an habitual criminal. “ The last time you were before the court you were given reformative detention, and I can’t do anything less than sentence you to three years’ imprisonment,” he added. The prisoner was represented by Mr M. G. Neal. Rleading guilty to a charge of breaking, entering, and theft by day, Harold Charles Martin, a salesman, aged 31 years, was sentenced to 18 months’ reformative detention. The _ offence was committed at Wanganui. The prisoner is at present serving a term in gaol.
