STANLEY M'KAY'S GAIETIES

MEW REVUE TO-NIGHT Stanley M‘Kay’s Gaieties Vaudeville and Revue Company, which is drawing big business to His Majesty’s Theatre, presents its first change of revue tonight, when ‘ Indian Romance ’ is to be staged for the first time in Dunedin. One of the features of the new offering is a song scena written and arranged by Mr George Greig, of the Hilo Duo, depicting picturesque Indian settings. The dressing and staging are of an elaborate nature. The love_ story running through the item is interpolated with many musical numbers, the principal singers being Leo Trenette and Alice Bennetto. The popular whistling and singing comedian Joe Lawman has ample scope for his fooling in ‘ The Birthday Present. ‘ The Ringer,’ ‘ Tho Love Question,’ ‘By My Halidorae,’ and ‘ The Mistake,’ a series of novel sketches. Amongst the prettily-dressed and staged song scenas are ‘ An Old Pair of Shoes,’ sung by Winnie Edgerton, and ‘Sweet Magnolias,’ with Alice Bennetto singing the leading role, each number being backed up by the Gaieties Beauty Ballet. New items are contributed by Heather Wright, New Zealand’s champion eccentric dancer; the Big Four ■ Harmony Quartet, Cliff O’Keefe, the Fredo Freres, Elvy Ferguson, James, Elton Black, Joy Wright, Les Diamondos, and the popular Hilo Duo, George and Wehi Greig, Hawaiian entertainers. At this afteronon’s matinee lucky children were presented with useful gifts. To-night’s plans are at Jacobs’s, where day sales may also he purchased.
