“JAPAN’S RIGHTEOUS STANDPOINT”
JOY'S PURPOSE ON SHORT WAVE The hope that the true position of Japan and Manchukuo will be understood by New Zealanders is expressed in a letter received from JDY, the short wave station at Dairon, by a local member of the New Zealand DX Radio Association. The letter is in reply to . a *eport on reception sent by the Dunedin iflan, and reads as follows: “ With many thanks we have received your kind letter dated October 4. “ The JDY short wave radio station commenced its operations on July 16 last in order to inform the whole world of Japan’s righteous standpoint, as well as Manchukuo’s wonderful progress ’ and development against the incorrect and malignant propaganda broadcast by China. ■ . , . ' “ Since that date the station has been on the air under the management of JQAK broadcasting station, which has concurrently managed two standard broadcasting wave stations, one of which is on the air for the Japanese people and the other for the Manchus. “ We give details of the JDY station as follows: — , “ Wave length, 9,925 kc (20.2 metres}. “ Rower, 10 kws. Everyday’s programme (by G.M.T.) . -—1260; Music and news in Japanese, as well as in Manchu. 1245: News in English up to 1300. 14 Checking your report with our station log, we have the pleasure of verifying ybur reception of our transmissior». \ , “ We should be very much pleased if you would kindly tell your friends about our broadcasting, and we earnestly hope that as many people as possible will understand the true situation of Japan and Manchukuo.”
