PCJ CALLING
SPECIAL MEW ZEALAND SESSIONS On Tuesday nights, at 8.30 (New Zealand time), Bob Wybrands, one of PCJ’s cheery announcers, begins _ a special two-hours’ session of music, gaiety, and interest specially prepared -For, New. Zealand and Australia. A re/minder of this special session is given in the ‘ Evening Star’s’ short wave programmes every week. Quite recently PCJ increased its power to 60 kilowatts in the aerial and erected a spectacular revolving beam aerial system, which not only ensures consistent reception, but guarantees a programme of popular appeal. ,PCJ is, anxious to have reports on the programmes. The station will lie pleased to receive suggestions which can be incorporated into the programmes to suit listeners’ requirements. All reports will be sent on to PCJ, where they will be acknowledged over the air and by personal reply card. Dance music enthusiasts will find much to suit them during PCJ’s happy transmissions, for quite_ often numbers from musical shows which are,current in Europe are played, thus enabling them to enjoy a “ preview ” long before thev reach our shores. PCJ has always been interested in New Zealand and Australia, and so there has been a new feature included in the usual programme—a news magazine session, which concerns items of interest .to Australian and New Zealand listeners.
