WAR TRAINING FOR GIRLS
Henceforth all pupils in intermediate and high schools for girls, as well as all girl students at the university in Turkey, will be given lessons in military science. The same regulation applies to professional 'schools of equivalent degree. A circular has already been sent by the Board of Education to all schools concerned. In the first course the girls will be taught the elements of conscription and mobilisation, military discipline, and martial law ; they will be trained in the us© of arms and maps, in anti-aircraft defence, in medical work, and in the frying .of military information. They wiJI also be given lessons' in military history. , The second year programme includes the use of machine guns, the study of shells and artillery, topography; lessons in strategy and tactics; and instruction qualifying for service behind the front.
