ANDERSON'S BAY RATEPAYERS

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The monthly meeting was held on Wednesday, Mr M. Campbell presiding over a good attendance of members. The following improvements for the district were forwarded to the town clerk for attention Somerville street: Kerbing and channelling east side between Cranston and Marne streets, filling in of ditch, also (kerbing and channelling on the opposite side between Silverton and Every streets. Snnbury street: Kerbing. and channelling ot footpath, repairing of Silverton street below Jeffrey, Duckworth and Oakland streets. The footpaths in the district generally, it was stated, were in a very bad state. , , ■ Correspondence was received from the Secretary of the Harbour Board regardingr the filling in of the Inlet. The Town Clerk also wrote in connection with this matter. Regarding the sale of concession tickets by conductors, the Town Clerk wrote that the committee was unable to accede to the request. The sum of £5 5s was donated to the Amenities Society towards the cost of improvement at the children’s playground. An endeavour is to be made to have the bus service to Anderson’s Bav-Shiel Hill and to cemetery reinstated, the population of these districts having increased.
