SUNDAY SERVICES

At First Church to-raorrow the Key. W, Allen Stevely’s morning subject will be ‘ The Gate Open,' and the evening subject, ‘The Acid Test.’ The evening music will include the "solo, ‘Lord God of Abraham,’ the quartet ‘ Cast Thy Burden,’ and the anthem ‘ The Day Thou Gavest.’ Dr Gal* way will bo at the organ. The Rev. D. C. Herron, M.A., will conduct both services in Knox Church tomorrow. In the evening his subject will be ‘ A Puzzling Question.’ The preacher in St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be the Rev. Thomas Miller. At the morning service there will be an ordination of deacons, and the subject will be ‘ Love Which Covers a Multitude of Sins.’ The subject in the evening will be ‘ The Answer of a Good Conscience.’ At the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church the services will be conducted by the Rev. A. C. W. Standage, the evening subject being ‘ Springs of Eternal Life.’ In the morning Mr A. Sneddon will give a report of the General Assembly recently held in The Rev. W. H. Greenslade, of Balclutha, will occupy Trinity Methodist Church pulpit to-morrow morning and Professor J. Gumming will preach in the evening. The evening anthem will be, 1 Holy Art Thou.’ At Glenavon, Mr C. Chirnside will preach in the morning and Missioner D. I. Robertson in the evening. Mr Robertson will also take the morning service at Woodhaugh. Cargill Road Methodist Church preacher for to morrow morning. Rev. H. C. Orchard, who will administer/- 1 the sacrament at the close of the service/ The evening preacher will be Mr E. C. J Foot, circuit steward of the Woodland Street Methodist Church, Timaru. Anthem, ‘Praise the Lord, O My Soul.' St. Clair preacher, Rev. G. Densem. Rev. T Skuse will be preaching morning and evening at the Methodist Church, St. Kilda. Special Sunday school anniversary services will bo held at the Hanover Street Baptist Church at 11 a.m., 2.45 p.m., and 6.30 p.m The preachers will be: Morning, Pastor J. P. Miller, of Mornington; afternoon, Rev. W. N. Flett, of Roslyn; evening, Rev. J. Ewen Simpson. There will be special singing at all services by a large children’s choir under th eleadersbip of Mr Val Drew. At Caversham Baptist Church the preacher will be the Rev. R. L. Fursdon. The morn, ing subject is ‘The Way of Access’; at night ‘ Spiritual Birth.’ The soloist is Miss Margaret Whiteside. The choir will render the anthem ‘ Unto Thee, O Lord, Do I Lift Up My Soul.’ The services!.of the North-east Valley Baptist Church will he conducted by the Rev. A. E. Jefferson in the morning and the pastor in the evening. You can be assured of a welcome. At the Congregational Church, Moray Place, to-morrow, the Rev. Albert Mead’s subject in the morning will be ‘ Turning Aside To See,’ and in the evening ‘ Religious Compulsion or Constraint.’ At the evening service Mr V. B. Smith will sine- ‘ Onr Blest Redeemer,’ and the choir will render the anthem ‘ Cherubic Hymn.’ At the Greater World Christian Spiritual Mission the service will be conducted bv Mr Anderson, of Port Chalmers, his subject being visions nroving the existence of a life beyond. Clairvoyance will follow, the Rev. G Brook' demonstrating. Mr J. M. M'Ewan will bn the speaker at the Spiritualist Church, Radiant Hall, his subject being ‘ The Christian Year,’ and a lady medium will give clairvoyant messages. On Monday, at 8 o’clock, the Healing Centre will meet. At the Theosonhical Society there will he an address hv Mrs A. J. Pollard, her subject being ‘ The Philosophy of Berulv.’
