CIVtL SERVICE SPORTS The Civil Service Club held, a meeting last evening. The track was in fair order but a very strong wind hampered the competitors in the 440yds, in which H J. Tyric scored a win from scratch in 53 4-ssec, good time under the conditions. J. Henderson registered a double in winning the broad jump and discus throw, and showing good form in each event. Results;— 100 Yards.—R. Scott (6yds) 1, A. M'Cartney (7yds) 2, J. Gerken (2yds) 3. Time, 10 l-ssec. From a good start Scott showed clear at halfway, and, maintaining his lead, won by 2ft from M'Cartney. with Gerken a foot back third, and the rest of the field close up. 440 Yards.--H. J. Tyrie (scr) 1, A. M'Cartney (30yds) 2, D. Mooney ■ lyds) 3. Time, 53 4-ssec. The field got away well, and Mooney led into the hack straight, where M'Cartney displaced him from the lead. Coming round into the straight Tyrie came up very fast, took the lead, and was never headed, winning by 10yds from M'Cartney, who headed Mooney by 3yds. Broad Jump.—J. Henderson (Iff' 20ft, 1; A.
