JUBILEE OF WELL-KNOWN FERRY SERVICE.—The fiftieth. anniversary of the inauguration of the Portobello rail ferry service will, fall next Tuesday. (Report; elsewhere). The present vessel in the service, the Tarewai, pictured here, is well known to Peninsula residents and holiday-makers. She was built in 1905 by Mr Knewstubb, of Port Chalmers.
