SALAD DRESSING It is a temptation every time one passes the greengrocer’s and sees piles of crisp, well-hearted lettuces to buv one and rush home to make a salad. Why not yield to it and have a salad every day? It takes only a moment to get it ready, if there is dressing at hand to use. This boiled salad dressing is cheap to make, and will keep for days if necessary. 1-tablespoonful salt. I teaspoon mustard. I.} tablespoons sugar. Few grains cayenne pepper. -i-cnp vinegar. tablespoons flour. Yolks of 2 eggs. ] i tablespoons melted butter. 5-cup milk. Method.—Mix dry ingredients together. Add yolks slightly beaten. Then add butter, milk, and vinegar very slowly. Cook over boiling water until mixture thickens. Stand aside and cool.
