‘THE SHINING HOU R

As its final production for the 1937 season the Dunedin Repertory Society will present Keith Winter’s interesting drama, ‘ The Shining Hour,’ for a season of four nights commencing on November 24. Although comparatively % newcomer to the world of playwrights Mr Winter has created a very favourable impression and critics predict for him a brilliant future. The scene is set in the house of a, quiet country household, and the basic theme of the play is the emotional upheaval caused by the arrival in its midst of the eldest brother and his glamorous bride. The central figure in th<* play is the bride, Mariella, and in this> role the society has made a wise choice in selecting Miss Dorothy Clark, whija Misses Mercia Hardman and Elsie M'Peak can bo relied upon for artistio work in the other female roles. Messrs Frank Lanyon, Roland Watson, and Leslie Pithie, who will be remembered for their good work in productions by various local societies, will complete the cast. ‘ The Shining Hour ’ will bo presented in His Majesty’s Theatre and will bo produced by Miss Bessie Thomson.
