TWO M£N SENT TO GAOL SUGGESTED " BIG SHOTS '? BEHIND THE SCENES [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, November 12. When turn men were sentenced to imprisonment in the Police Court today for sly grog-selling, counsel for one suggested that “some of the men behind the sly grog-shops were what were known in America as “ big shots.” John Sidney Cormack was sentenced to two months, the police stating that he was last week fined £4O in respect of gaming charges arising out of a police raid in the city. James Macandrew was sentenced to seven days on a charge of sly grog-sell-ing, and Patricia Leckie, a barmaid, charged with aiding and abetting the sale of sly grog, was fined £3.
