WEATHER FORECAST
CLOUDY—ISOLATED RAINS The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the south-* ern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers* Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, River-* ton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay• The anti-cyclone mentioned yester* day has now moved to the eastward off New Zealand. The cyclone over the North Tasman is centred about 300 miles west of Cape Maria Van Diemen* and is moving south-south-eastward* A shallow westerly depression has advanced across the South Tasman Seat on to Southern New Zealand. Forecast: Moderate to fresh and variable winds. Weather cloudy to Overcast* with isolated light rain. Temperatures co.ol. Seas slight to moderate, but rather rough in Fouveaux Strait. NO SIGN OF RAIN. No indication of rain was given up to noon to-day. At midday, when barometric pressure was steady ah 29.75 in, the sky was lightly clouded, but temperatures were at a high level. The respective maximum and minimum registrations at 9 o’clock this morning ~ were 69.9 deg and 63deg, as compared with 62deg and 56deg at the same tiroa yesterday, and 68deg and 43deg over a period or 24 hours. There was a slight southerly breeze in evidence this mono ing.
