WATER POLO

A GRADE CONPETITISN Kiwi A had too much combination for St. Clair A in the competition match at the Municipal Baths last night, winning by 8 goals to nil. Kiwi scored shortly after the opening, smart work by Taylor and Geodes allowing Dyson to net. Almost immediately Geddes scored from an unmarked position, and soon after play was set in motion again the same player made Kiwi three up by netting another goal, again when unmarked. For the next few minutes St. Clair offered more strenuous opposition, but Geddes simply could not be held, and his next pomteetter came from a beautiful back-hand shot following a melee in front of the St. Clair goal. Half time came with the score: Kiwi 4, St. Clair 0. St. Clair worked better together in the early stages of the second spell, and had one or two opportunities to open the scoring, but their shots were being taken from bad positions. and Pickard, the Kiwi goalie, was able to clear with ease. In the closing stages Kiwi played their best polo, and following nice combined play, first Dyson, then Geddes, and Dyson again found the net. The final goal was scored by Dyson after a sterling piece of solo play on the part of Geddes. For Kiwi Ibylor, Dyson, Geddes, and Pickard were outstanding, while for St. Clair Swan and Gillies did fine work. The game ended: Kiwi 8-, St. Clair 0. Mr D. C. Bannatyne was the referee.
